The emergence of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is having a vast and disruptive impact across the world. It is rapidly changing the way we work and interact in digital environments and is quickly becoming the defining technological revolution of our time. 

This workshop will explore the implications of this revolution for education in a Montessori context. Beginning with demonstrations of interactions with generative AI, we will explore:

  • what this technology is and what it means for us and our tamariki/rangatahi
  • opportunities and challenges
  • potential benefits and concerns
  • how we can use it

This workshop is suitable for kaiako of all age groups.


Facilitator

Tim Moore draws on 20 years of classroom experience, with 12 years at The Hills Montessori School as a founding teacher in the Wairoa Adolescent Program. He currently works with the Australian Curriculum and Reporting Authority (ACARA) in the literacy assessment space at a national level. He brings a passion for innovative education and an enduring commitment to transformative pedagogy.

If your service or school is not a school member of MANZ, you have the option to join MANZ as an individual member for $66 pa and then register at the individual member rate. Becoming a MANZ Student Member
If you are currently studying you have the option to join MANZ as a student member for $40 pa and then register for at the rate offered to teachers at MANZ member schools. MANZ may ask for proof of current student identification. You will also receive two MANZ publications; the hard copy magazine Montessori Voices and the teacher e-zine Informed each term as part of your membership.
