We are seeking an experienced or aspiring leader to guide our community-owned preschool. This is a leadership and management role with responsibility for the overall operation of the centre. We are licensed for 50 children and have two well-resourced classrooms and a beautiful large outdoor environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the centre, including staffing, budgeting, marketing, administration, and compliance.
- Ensure high-quality teaching and learning in line with the Montessori philosophy.
- Work collaboratively with the Governance Committee to achieve the centre’s strategic goals.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with tamariki, whānau, kaiako, and the wider community.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to kaiako, supporting their Professional Growth Cycle, appraisal, and ongoing professional development.
- Although primarily a management position, some classroom support is required.
About you:
- Hold a recognised ECE qualification and a current full practising certificate.
- Have leadership experience in an early childhood education setting (or demonstrate the capability and aspiration to step into a leadership role).
- Knowledge of Te Whāriki and Montessori philosophy.
