Eastern Suburbs Montessori provides Montessori education for primary school years 1-8 (ages 6-12) delivered within the framework of the New Zealand National Curriculum and the International
Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. Established in 1996 with eight students, the school now comprises of two classes, with a total roll of approximately 90 students.
Eastern Suburbs Montessori is fully integrated into Glendowie School, providing access to school-wide programmes and facilities
including cultural and sporting activities, the arts, an extensive library and IT suite, surrounded by sea views and lush green nature reserves.
We are seeking an experienced 6-12 Montessori trained teacher. This is a co-teaching position – you will join the current team of five enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Montessori teachers who
foster a strong sense of community and celebrate the school’s individuality within the wider community. There is weekly planning time, collaborative planning across different year levels, and a
wide variety of teaching areas.
The ideal candidate will:
● have completed Montessori 6-12 training
● be an experienced, visionary Montessori teacher with a relevant teaching qualification
● hold NZ teacher registration and a relevant valid work visa or NZ residency
● possess enthusiasm, passion and exceptional people skills and work well as part of a team
● enjoy a dynamic, challenging role where flexibility is a necessity
● role model the values and mission of the school
