Wā Ora Montessori School is an Area School based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, catering for approximately 300 children and is the only Montessori School in New Zealand that nurtures the child from 0 to 18 years. We are a community based school with close connections to our whānau (families). Lower Hutt is just 30 minutes from Wellington City, so is close to bush walks, beaches, a great cultural scene and some of the world’s best restaurants, cafes and coffee.
We require a face to face Montessori trained 6-12 teacher with experience teaching at the 9-12 level
(Yr5-7) to join our staff. You will need to be available to start for the beginning of Term 3, Monday 20th July, 2026, however an earlier start date would be preferable and can be negotiated. You will be enthusiastic, motivated, committed to the highest quality of Montessori education and love sparking the imagination and excitement of this age group.
Applicants must have New Zealand teacher registration and possess the legal right to work in New Zealand, including a valid work visa. Experience, willingness and ability to take part in instruction appropriate to the special character of the school is a condition of appointment.
