Are you a passionate early childhood leader who values independence, nature, community, and bicultural practice?
We are seeking a Centre Manager to guide our beautiful, community-based preschool nestled in Haruātai Park. We offer a unique Montessori environment, enriched by Te Whāriki and the natural world, where tamariki grow into confident, compassionate explorers.
As our Centre Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated teaching team, partner with an engaged parent committee, and nurture strong relationships with whānau and the wider community. You’ll bring clarity, kindness, and vision to day-to-day operations, and uphold the special values that make our centre a taonga in Ōtaki.
What we offer:
-
A stunning bush-side setting, perfect for nature-based play and learning
-
A close-knit, supportive teaching team and governance committee
-
A leadership role with purpose and heart
-
A centre committed to te ao Māori, sustainability, and inclusion
-
Ongoing professional growth in both Montessori and Aotearoa contexts
What we’re looking for:
-
A qualified, registered ECE teacher with leadership experience
-
Strong understanding of Montessori and/or Te Whāriki
-
A confident communicator with great organisational skills
-
Someone who thrives in collaborative, community-driven spaces
-
A leader who values tamariki-led learning and outdoor exploration
If you’re ready to step into a meaningful leadership role where tamariki, whānau, nature and kaupapa come first — we’d love to hear from you.
