Nelson Montessori invites kaiako with a deep passion for, and experience in, a Montessori community for 2 ½- 6-year-olds to join our team.

Nelson Montessori is located in a stunning heritage park where tamariki have access to the gifts of a carefully prepared learning environment, both indoors and outdoors, all day, every day. Our community is comprised of two preschool classrooms with a substantial outdoor area. Established in 1998, these environments are well-resourced with authentic Montessori materials providing an enriching learning environment for our tamariki. Ours is a community that strongly values whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, aroha, kaitiakitanga, and diversity while also focused on enabling our tamariki the powerful ability to explore and grow their independence and love of learning.

We are seeking a senior Montessori teacher who has the experience and skills to lead a Montessori classroom. If you are a fully registered early childhood educator with a deep knowledge of Te Whāriki and hold a Montessori qualification, or are prepared to commit to Montessori training, we would love to hear from you.

To complement the skills in our team, we’re seeking a person who has a passion for the Montessori philosophy and well-developed interpersonal skills who can be an effective communicator with colleagues, tamariki and their whānau. The Senior Directress (kaiako) position we have available is a full-time position. In recognition of the value we place on our educators delighted to have we have opted in to Pay Parity beginning Jan 2022 and are closed for three weeks over the summer holiday period to make the most of our fabulous region.

This position commences in Term 4, 2021, or Term 1, 2022 for the suitable candidate.
