Primary Classroom Assistant or Teacher with Interest in Montessori

The Principal of Inner Sydney Montessori School (ISMS) invites applications for the position of Primary Assistant from a current educator, or other suitably interested and aligned individual, who has a passion for child-focused, kinaesthetic and project-based learning.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic, creative, responsible and hardworking Assistant to join our outstanding team of staff and play a key role in an authentic Montessori community.

We facilitate a child-centred pedagogical model tailored to individualised and independent learning with respect to the social, emotional and intellectual development of the child.  A Classroom Assistant is a vital support role enabling the Director to facilitate the learning needs of each individual child within a multi-age classroom of 6 – 9 or 9 – 12 year olds.

The Assistant role encompasses child supervision and support within the work cycle, planning and implementing art/craft, science and co-curricular activities, classroom and material preparation according to the Montessori methodology and administrative tasks.

ISMS is a friendly and dynamic Pre and Primary School with students at the heart of everything they do. The staff create nurturing classrooms where each child develops a healthy self-concept, positive values, strong skills, a deep academic understanding and a curiosity and appreciation of nature and the world around them.

Recognised as one of Australia’s leading Montessori registered schools, this child focused Pre and Primary School is at enrolment capacity with around 300 students between the ages of 3-12. In addition, around 100 students are enrolled per term in the Infant Community Program for 0-3 year olds.
