An RARE opportunity has arisen with Kohimarama Montessori Preschool for a Centre Manager / Head Teacher who is qualified, registered and experienced in the Montessori philosophy, based in Kohimarama and overseeing 2 boutique centres with 15 children in one and a total of 30 in the other.   Your key duties will include working on the floor for part of the day, mentoring and managing up to 5 staff, organising breaks, liaising with parents, writing stories as well as ensuring the centre meets their legislative and regulatory compliance under the Ministry of Education and achieving the strategic goals of the centre.

  • Get your teacher registration + first aid certificate paid for when it expires 
  • The centre closes for 2 weeks over xmas and new years

Skills and experience for the role: 

  • 8 – 10 years, where you have progressed from a teacher into a head teach/centre manager and are looking for a new opportunity  
  • NZ degree or diploma qualified and a current registration 
  • Hold a current first aid certificate
  • A qualification and experience working with the Montessori philosophy 
  • Exposure to working with children aged from 3 year to 5 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • A commitment to both Montessori philosophy and Te Whaariki curriculum 
  • Competent with Microsoft office suite
