Centre Manager

  • Employer: Ōtaki Montessori Preschool
  • Location: Kapiti, Ōtaki
  • Work type: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Ōtaki Montessori Preschool as Centre Manager.

Our small centre has a strong team of wonderful kaiako (teachers) and support staff, providing Montessori education to children from the age of 2 through to 6 years.

We offer a lower ratio of kaiako to tamariki providing an environment where children thrive.  Our classrooms and environment offer a calm and safe space where tamariki can learn about themselves, their relationships with others and the world around them.

The Centre Manager is integral not only to the day to day running of our centre but to the culture we foster, allowing us to deliver the best care and education for our children, family, whānau and community.

We seek a highly motivated person to lead and empower our team.

As Centre Manager you are responsible for the day to day operation of our centre, programme delivery, facility management, enrolments, and budgets and forecasting.

We need a leader with:

  • Bachelor Education / Diploma Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current certification
  • Montessori training (further training opportunities would be available to our successful candidate)
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships
  • Previous leadership / management experience
  • Financial knowledge and business acumen

Given we are a small tight-knit team; if teaching is your passion and classroom time is important to you we would support the successful applicant with an administrative assistant.

Ōtaki Montessori Preschool is an Incorporated Society supported by a Parent Committee.

This is a permanent full-time position Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm offering a competitive salary. The centre closes for 4 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period.
