What are your career aspirations? The best teacher you can be is when you find the closest match with your core values.
What can we offer you: We are a purpose-built, community-based Montessori school with a beautiful outdoor classroom and environment, all newly renovated. We are a strong Montessori community with four casa classrooms and a Montessori primary unit as part of a local state school. Our classrooms are all well-resourced and stocked. Each casa class is led by a Montessori trained teacher and supported by two assistant teachers.
There is opportunity to grow and develop with the position having the potential to develop into a Deputy Principal position with some dedicated non-contact time to support this role.
Our school has a strong focus on professional development (we offer all our teachers the opportunity to attend the MANZ conference when it is on the same island as us, we fund AMI head-teacher and assistant training as well as supporting other PD opportunities).
Are you looking to teach in an environment where a deep respect for children is fundamental? Do you believe in the importance of both peace and environmental education? If you see your role as a facilitator – introducing the world and its wonder to the children, nurturing within them a love of learning and a sense of themselves as capable, confident and independent; then we would love to talk to you.
What we are looking for: A passionate Montessori teacher with good leadership, communication and team skills. New Zealand Teacher Certification and AMI training preferred. Only applicants with a face to face training will be considered.
The position is available from June 2017 with some degree of flexibility.
