PRINCIPAL

Melbourne Montessori School (MMS) is a well-established, independent, not-for-profit school catering for children aged 2 to 12 years.

With a long history of dedication and commitment by our school community to the highest principles of Montessori education, our current principal and the school board have laid sound foundations for future growth and are now seeking to appoint a long-term, visionary principal to lead our school into the future and deliver our ambitious strategic plan.

We want our school to be a centre of excellence and one of the leading voices for Montessori education in Australia and internationally. MMS is based in inner city Melbourne and is one of the largest Montessori schools in Australia, with over 250 students.

The school has a settled and experienced board as well as a diverse and involved parent body. The school is eager to welcome and support a world-class educator with the commitment and passion to embrace and enhance our community.

Schools in Australia are currently experiencing a receptive government environment, in particular significant government funding is being provided to many schools as part of Australia’s current Building the Education Revolution (BER). As a result MMS is undergoing a school building project that has further enhanced our facilities.

Coupled with our involvement with the Montessori Australia Foundation (MAF), this initiative creates a unique opportunity for a new leader to take our school forward, playing an active role in promoting Montessori education to government and the broader education sector.

The school has two campuses closely located to one another in Caulfield South and Brighton East, which are beautiful inner city suburbs of Melbourne, surrounded by parks, beaches, and many other family friendly attractions.

Melbourne is also known as the cultural capital of Australia and consistently rated as one of the world’s most liveable cities. If successful, international candidates will be assisted to relocate.
